Service summary

A category 3 game is a game, other than bingo, with gross proceeds over $50,000. Examples of category 3 games include art unions or Calcutta sweeps.

You need a licence to conduct category 3 games in Queensland.

Exemptions

If your gross proceeds are less than $50,000 you do not need a category 3 gaming licence.

Eligibility requirements


Must Have

Only an eligible incorporated not-for-profit association can conduct a category 3 game.

Duration

This licence remains in effect for 1 year.

Fees

All fees are indexed annually. Annual fees are payable by 31 July each year.

The OLGR credit card payment authority form can be used for credit card payments of all OLGR fees.

OLGR will not accept credit card details by fax or email, including PDF attachments. If an email is received with credit card details, it will be deleted immediately and your form will not be processed. This is in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.

Application

To apply for a new licence submit the following to the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation:

  • Form 2A: Category 3 gaming licence application/renewal
  • application fee.

Note: All applications must be lodged at least 28 days prior to the proposed commencement date of the game/s.


Transfer details

This licence cannot be transferred.
