Conferences, workshops and field days on invasive plants and animals - Queensland

Service summary

The service objectives are to minimise the damage to agricultural production systems and the broader environment from weeds and pests.

The Invasive Plants and Animals Program of Biosecurity Queensland provides leadership and support for invasive plant animal management across the state.

Biosecurity Queensland organise and contribute to major workshops, events and conferences on a wide range of topics through

  • training for staff of councils and registered government invasive plant control operators about invasive plants and animals
  • advanced technical workshops and conferences that bring together expertise throughout Queensland and Australia to address potential solutions to invasive plant and animal control
  • symposia workshops or field days that have a very wide involvement with government, research industries, land holders and associated industries
  • displays and demonstrations of relevant products and research targeting businesses and associated industries
  • support to local government officers enrolled in relevant training packages that support invasive plant and animal management
  • invasive plan and animal research
