Regional Arts Development Fund - Queensland

Service summary

The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership program between State and Local Government that supports professional artists and arts practitioners living in regional Queensland.

RADF promotes the role and value of arts, culture and heritage as key drivers of diverse and inclusive communities and strong regions.  RADF invests in local arts and cultural priorities, as determined by local communities, across Queensland.

RADF supports arts and cultural activities that:

  • provide public value for Queensland communities
  • build local cultural capacity, cultural innovation and community pride
  • deliver Queensland Government?s objectives for the community.

Arts Queensland manages the RADF program through an annual budget for allocations to individual councils. RADF applications from councils are assessed by the RADF Assessment Panel comprising representatives from relevant Queensland Government agencies and appropriate industry experts. Councils nominate a RADF liaison officer and establish a RADF committee which assesses local applications for RADF grants and makes funding recommendations to councils for ratification. Arts Queensland and individual councils contribute funds to support the local RADF grant program.
