Charter fishing licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence to conduct fishing trips in offshore waters and charge a fee for the service. Charter fishing operators take paying passengers on fishing trips, including:

  • spear fishing
  • game fishing
  • tag-and-release fishing
  • demersal (bottom) reef fishing
  • guided fishing.

Eligibility requirements

If your operation affects an area subject to native title, you may have to notify the Indigenous organisation concerned about your proposed operations. If so, you might have to supply additional information.

You may need to pay Queensland stamp duty.

Transfer process

Transfer

You can permanently or temporarily transfer an existing licence to another person.

The application form must be signed by all of the individuals or entities that are recorded as the current holder. If a third-party interest is recorded against a licence, their permission to transfer the licence is required before the application can progress.

You may have to pay Queensland transfer duty.
