This authorisation is required to carry out development and construction of an operating plant, or part of a plant, if the total gas capacity of the devices at the plant, or the part of the plant, is 50 GJ/hour or more.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

- Gas work authorisation gas devices Type B
development and construction of an operating plant that has the capability of consuming gas at a rate equal to or greater than 50 GJ/hour.
This authorisation cannot be transferred.
This authorisation remains in effect for the term specified on the authorisation.

You can obtain this authorisation by submitting a completed Application for a gas work authorisation (major projects) Form PGA728AM), to your regional office.
The application fee is non-refundable and the authorisation fee must accompany the application.

Before approval is granted:
- qualifications must be verified by the department
- provide evidence of relevant training competencies to undertake the required gas work.
