You may need to pay a road maintenance bond before your approval is granted. The maintenance bond is used to reinstate any damage made to the road or road signs.

Service type

Licence

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Application

Gympie Regional Council has advised that there is no specific council form for this; however council does regulate all wide load removals through or within the regional council area.

The process is as follows:

When Gympie Regional Council receives a Building movement advice from Department of Transport and Main Roads advising when and where (route) the move will be occurring, council then checks that all approvals are in place and also if the route inspection fee (non-refundable) and removalist bond (which is refundable) have been paid. When all these requirements are in place, a Final Letter is then issued to the removalist.

If all the above requirements are not in place, a fax will be sent to Department of Transport and Main Roads to put a hold on the move until all approvals, etc. are in place.
