Service summary

The purposes of this Act are to:

  1. establish the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) to plan, organise and deliver the Commonwealth Games
  2. protect the integrity of images or expressions, and sponsorship arrangements, associated with the Commonwealth Games by:
    (i) prohibiting the unauthorised use of protected images and protected references 
    (ii) prohibiting conduct falsely inferring a person's association with the Commonwealth Games
    (iii) conferring rights of redress on entities associated with the Commonwealth Games.
