Why the Support is Provided?

This support service is provided to assess production, marketing, financing and investment options in agribusiness using appropriate, cost effective and reliable methods of economic evaluation so that agribusiness profitability, rural communities and environmental outcomes are improved.

What Support is Provided?

Two key work areas are:

  1. Develop economic tools to improve decision making in agricultural businesses to improve management practices and increase profitability.
  2. Delivery of economic and business skills training for the rural sector aimed at providing producers with improved business planning skills and technical capabilities.

all commercial industry/business entities involved in the production, first stage processing and marketing of Queensland agricultural products.

Eligibility requirements

Prefer to deal with regional, industry or group initiatives. However, no specific eligibility criteria apply.


Fee for service may be charged, judged on a case-by-case basis.

Economic Services gives priority to activities that:

  • increase export potential
  • increase net benefit to Queensland
  • increase employment
  • improve the skills available to agribusiness
  • contribute to regional community development.
