Whilst Mackay does not have a mall area, a section of Victoria Street is closed every Sunday for Victoria street markets.

You will require approval for the following activities at this time:

  • having a stall at the markets
  • vehicular entry to the closed street.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

Prior to obtaining this licence, you must hold a current public liability insurance policy. No fee will be accepted until your application is approved and proof of public liability insurance is received.


The approval is ongoing while the markets continue in their current format and the product remains the same. You are required to confirm each attendance in advance of the markets to assist in layout planning. As a stall holder you will usually be advised of your location in advance.

Application forms are currently being updated to recognise the new identity of the market organisers.

As a prospective stall holder it is essential that you speak to the organisers as there are certain products that are not acceptable for sale at the markets.
