Service summary

QPED contains petroleum and coal seam gas well and stratigraphic borehole data extracted from open file exploration reports. It is designed to promote petroleum exploration in Queensland, by providing a pre-competitive data set of basic well information. This enables rapid evaluation of the hydrocarbon potential of areas of interest across the state.

A large amount of information regarding petroleum exploration and drilling is available for download from various online services.

Eligibility requirements

No specific eligibility criteria apply, however permitted use and obligations are explained in the Digital Data User Licence that accompanies the dataset.

Additional information

QPED can be downloaded from QSpatial. There is no cost associated with accessing QPED through QSpatial. Additional information relating to petroleum exploration in Queensland is available from QDEX Reports and QDEX Data.
