Gaming Machine Licence - South Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to own and operate gaming machines. This licence will allow you to possess up to 40 approved gaming machines at one venue.

A gaming machine licence cannot be granted to premises located under the same roof as shops or within shopping complexes. You may hold more than one gaming licence for separate parts of the premises if there are also separate liquor licences for the premises.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must hold or have applied to hold one of the following liquor licences:

  • a general and hotel liquor licence
  • a club liquor licence
  • an on premises liquor licence (only if the nature of the business is similar to a licensed club and the premises is a major sporting venue or sporting code headquarters).

You will need to have persons within your business who hold a position of authority (director, manager, shareholder etc.) approved as part of your application. These persons must complete and lodge a personal identification declaration with the application.

You must notify the agency of a new gaming manager or gaming employee through the Barring and Online Employee Notification (BOEN) system before that employee begins work.

You must have a gaming machine entitlement for every gaming machine you operate.
