Persons intending to operate a child care centre, preschool, family day care scheme or out of school hours care service (or any other service declared in regulations) and employing or contracting persons to provide education and care for children under the age of six years, must have a Provider Approval, a Service Approval and a Nominated Supervisor for the service.
An Approved Provider may apply for Service Approvals if they wish to operate one or more education and care services.
A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
An Approved Provider may apply for a service approval for an education and care service. The application must nominate a certified supervisor who will be the nominated supervisor and include that person's written consent to the nomination. New services must also meet relevant Building Code requirements.
