Registration of Sealed Radioactive Source - South Australia

Service summary

This registration is required for any sealed radioactive source which contains a specified (registerable) quantity of radioactive substance eg sources used in radiation gauges, soil density measuring equipment or industrial radiography equipment. Sealed radioactive sources and equipment containing them must meet specific requirements detailed in the legislation.

Eligibility requirements

Any person or company which owns a registerable sealed radioactive source must ensure that the source is registered in the name of that person or company.

Each source: Application fee $1271,
Registration fee - first source $293
Registration fee - additional source $97.50.

Additional information

Sealed radioactive source and its installation must comply with the registration requirements of the Radiation Protection and Control (Ionising Radiation) Regulations 2000.
