This licence is required by a business intending to contract for any of the following work functions: crowd controlling, security guarding (general, body guarding, with dog, with firearm) security system work, canine handling and monitoring centre operations.

Eligibility requirements

A company is entitled to be licensed as an agent if it has not been suspended or disqualified from practising or carrying on a trade, occupation or business in Australia; under official management, in receivership or being wound up. The company must employ a manager who holds an agents licence authorising the person to perform the same functions as the company, without supervision.

The company's directors must also satisfy strict eligibility criteria. The company must demonstrate sufficient financial resources. Directors together, must have sufficient business knowledge and experience.
