Blue Crab Fishery Licence - South Australia

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to undertake commercial fishing of blue crabs using crab pots and bait nets.

As all blue crab fishery licences are currently exhausted, you can only be granted this licence through transfer from an existing licence holder.

Licence holders are also required to register:

  • any boat or device used under this licence
  • a person as a master of any boat used under this licence.

If a boat registered for use under the blue crab licence is also used under a licence or other entitlement to take other marine resources:

  • that entitlement must either be transferred together with the licence or surrendered before transfer; or
  • transfer of the licence separately from the entitlement must not be likely to result in exploitative fishing activities, and the body that granted the entitlement must agree with the separate transfer of the licence.
