Exploratory and Developmental Permits - South Australia

Description

You will need these permits if you intend to explore or develop a new fishery. This includes harvesting species not currently fished commercially and undertaking fishing in new areas.

The object of an exploratory permit is to explore and identify opportunities for the commercial exploitation of aquatic resources.

The object of a developmental permit is to enable a rigorous and detailed assessment of the potential commercial exploitation of aquatic resources, in order to demonstrate that it is economically viable, socially acceptable and ecologically sustainable.
