You will need to comply with this code if you care for, control or manage captive birds.

The code sets out standards relating to:

  • food and water
  • housing, caging, and transport containers
  • health, disease, and stress.

The code does not apply to waterfowl, pigeons used for racing, and pheasants or poultry used for the commercial production of meat or eggs.
