Service summary

Persons intending to operate a child care centre, preschool, family day care scheme or out of school hours care service (or any other service declared in regulations) and employing or contracting persons to provide education and care for children under the age of six years, must have a Provider Approval, a Service Approval and a Nominated Supervisor for the service.

A certified Supervisor may be placed in day to day charge of an approved education and care service. Each approved service must have a nominated supervisor who has consented in writing to their nomination.

Eligibility requirements

A person must be fit and proper, at least 18 years of age and meet the minimum requirements for qualifications, experience and management capability.
