Security-Sensitive Dangerous Substances Permit - Tasmania

Service summary

You may require this permit if you intend to manufacture, import, transport, supply, store, use or dispose of ammonium nitrate or another security-sensitive dangerous substance (such as type 3 fireworks, propellant or blasting explosive).

Your employees will not require a separate permit, but you will need to nominate those employees who will have unsupervised access to the security-sensitive dangerous substance (responsible worker), and they will have to undergo security checks. If successful they will be issued with an identity card they must carry with them when working with the substance.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information, including whether the ammonium nitrate or explosive substance you intend to work with requires this permit.
