Greyhound Racing Registrations - Tasmania

Service summary

If you intend to own a racing greyhound or provide services associated with greyhound racing, you must hold the appropriate registration with the responsible Agency. Registration is required to be an owner, stud master, breeder, trainer, catcher, attendant or syndicate member. Greyhound racing facilities such as trial tracks must also be registered.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for registration as an owner, attendant or trainer, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age; and
  • Satisfy any accreditation or other specified requirements.

To be eligible for registration as a catcher, you must:

  • Be at least 14 years of age;
  • If under 18 years of age, provide written consent from a parent or guardian who is over 18 years of age; and
  • Satisfy any accreditation or other specified requirements.
