You will require this registration if you intend to act as a
bookmaker or in a bookmaker partnership at a thoroughbred, harness or greyhound
race meeting or approved sports events.
If you intend to accept telephone bets, you must apply for a
separate endorsement on your registration. You may apply for either an
on-course or off-course telephone betting endorsement.
You must have been registered for at least 2 years to be
approved for off-course betting endorsements.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To be eligible for this registration you must:
- Be a fit and proper person;
- Have sufficient assets to carry on the business of a bookmaker;
- Pay the required security bond; and
- Pay any required fees.

Registrations expire on 30 June each year.
