Bookmaker / Bookmaker Partnership Registration - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this registration if you intend to act as a bookmaker or in a bookmaker partnership at a thoroughbred, harness or greyhound race meeting or approved sports events.

If you intend to accept telephone bets, you must apply for a separate endorsement on your registration. You may apply for either an on-course or off-course telephone betting endorsement.

You must have been registered for at least 2 years to be approved for off-course betting endorsements.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration you must:

  • Be a fit and proper person;
  • Have sufficient assets to carry on the business of a bookmaker;
  • Pay the required security bond; and
  • Pay any required fees.

Duration

Up to twelve months.

Expiry

Registrations expire on 30 June each year.
