Registration of Plant Items - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this registration if you are responsible for the management or control of certain items of plant at a workplace. Plant includes:

  • any machinery, equipment, appliance, container, implement or tool
  • any component of any of those items
  • anything fitted or connected to any of those items.

Types of plant that may require registration include boilers, pressure vessels, tower cranes, lifts, escalators or other moving walkways, building maintenance units, amusement devices, concrete playing booms and mobile cranes.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration you must:

  • manage or control the item of plant you intend to register
  • provide evidence that the item of plant has been inspected and deemed safe to operate, as well as any other information required by the Agency
  • complete the relevant application form
  • pay the required fee.
