Automotive Gas-Fitting Contractor Licence - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to contract for automotive gas-fitting work. This licence restricts you to automotive work only. A contractor may be the owner, partner, corporate officer or manager of a gas-fitting business, they do not necessarily need to possess a gas-fitting practitioner's licence.

A contractor must nominate a gas-fitting practitioner (who has completed additional qualifications) to be a 'Nominated Manager', who must manage and supervise the prescribed work undertaken by the business.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • possess the required qualifications
  • possess adequate insurance coverage (at least $5,000,000 for any one occurrence)
  • be a fit and proper person
  • submit the form, prescribed fee and any associated documentation.
