Perpetual Taxi Licence - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to operate a vehicle as a taxi. This licence enables the taxi to be hired from a taxi zone, by being hailed, or by being booked and ordered. You can either own the licence outright or lease it from someone.

The government is no longer issuing new licences, so the only way to obtain this licence is to purchase or lease one from an existing licence holder. There is no limit on the number of licences you can hold. If you purchase a licence you then own it and can either use it in your own taxi business or lease it to an accredited taxi operator.
