You will need to hold, own or lease this licence if you intend to operate a taxi. This licence enables your taxi to be hired from a taxi zone, by being hailed, or by being booked and ordered.
The government is no longer issuing new licences. The only way to obtain this licence is to trade or lease one from an existing licence holder. There is no limit on the number of licences you can hold. If you purchase a licence you then own it and can either use it in your own taxi business or lease it to an accredited taxi operator.
