Milk Processor's Licence - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to process market milk. Processing includes pasteurising or packaging milk. Market milk includes:

  • Milk for sale for human consumption;
  • Modified milk, skim milk and flavoured milk for sale for human consumption as a liquid; or
  • Cream for sale for human consumption as a liquid.

Dairy processors must also develop a food safety management system.

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • Lodge an application in a prescribed form;
  • Provide any other information or documentation, where required; and
  • Pay any required fees.

Please note that you are required to pay additional licensing fees based on the intake of milk you process and whether or not the milk is purchased directly from a dairy farmer.
