Approval of a Water Quality Auditor - Tasmania

Description

You will need this approval if you intend to undertake the activities of a water quality auditor.

A water quality auditor is an independent reviewer who undertakes systematic audits of Drinking Water Quality Management Plans (DWQMP) with the primary objective of protecting public health through the provision of safe drinking water.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this approval you must have:

  • a degree in engineering, science or medicine
  • at least seven years of relevant industry experience
  • experience in developing Drinking Water Quality Management Plans (DWQMP) and in implementing the Tasmanian Drinking Water Quality Guidelines (TDWQG)
  • suitable references and audit reports.

Applicants must also be able to demonstrate no conflicts of interest that would impact their ability to objectively conduct audits.

Applications are assessed within 2 weeks of receipt. There are no renewal provisions - the approval lapses after 12 months and a reapplication needs to be made.
