Plumbing Permit - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require a plumbing permit if you intend to conduct permit plumbing work, or a stage of permit plumbing work. Examples of permit plumbing work include:

  • commercial high rise buildings
  • on-site waste-water management systems
  • backflow prevention devices.

All applications must be accompanied by a certificate of likely compliance issued by the relevant building surveyor that is in force in respect to the proposed work.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, your application must:

  • be made to the relevant permit authority
  • be accompanied by a certificate of likely compliance
  • be accompanied by any fee payable in respect of the application
  • include, or be accompanied by, such information and documentation as is determined by the Director of Building Control.
