Roadside Vendor Permit - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this permit if you intend to sell items or food from a roadside vehicle, market, fair or stall. You must ensure that the land being used for roadside vending activities is designated for such use.

In the case of the sale of food from a vehicle, inspection and approval from your Council will be required. Specific guidelines apply on how to operate a mobile food vending business and your Council can provide guidance on how to comply Tasmanian food safety legislation.

Eligibility requirements

If you intend to sell food, you will have to ensure that you:

  • Obtain appropriate food business registration; and
  • Comply with the Food Standards Code.
