Pipeline Licence - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to operate a pipeline or pipeline facility. This licence will allow you to carry out the following activities:

  • Construct or alter a pipeline or pipeline facility; and
  • Operate or maintain a pipeline or pipeline facility.

Pipelines are used to carry natural gas, petroleum or another regulated substance. A pipeline facility to extract, treat or store gas from pipelines.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • Have sufficient technical and financial resources;
  • Provide details of the proposed pipeline network or facility; and
  • Pay any required fees.

Applications must be made by a body corporate or partnership of bodies corporate. Please consult the Contact Officer for detailed information on the requirements for this licence.
