Fifth Wheel or Turntable Assemblies in Heavy Vehicles - Tasmania

Description

You must comply with the following standards if you intend to manufacture or modify a heavy vehicle that will be used in a B-double or road train:

  • AS 1771-1987 Installation of Fifth Wheel and Turntable Assemblies (sets out recommendations for minimum requirements for the installation of both fixed and sliding assemblies on prime movers for normal use)
  • AS 1773-1990 Articulated Vehicles - Fifth Wheel Assemblies (specifies dimensional and functional requirements, ratings, and dynamic and static testing).
