Service Approval - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this approval if you intend to operate a family day care or centre-based service for children ranging from below school age up to the commencement of a secondary school program. Centre-based services include long day care, preschool or kindergarten and outside school hours care services.

You must apply for a provider approval before applying for a service approval. You will need to apply for this approval if you are, or will be the operator of the education and care service, and be responsible for the management of the staff members and nominated supervisor of that service.

If you intend to operate multiple child care services you must apply separately for approval for each service and all services must have a nominated supervisor before it can begin operating. You must include the details of the person with a supervisor certificate who will be the service's nominated supervisor. If they don't have the certificate then they will need to apply for one.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information.
