Poppy Grower's Licence - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to grow, possess, sell or supply alkaloid poppies for commercial purposes. Alkaloid poppy means a plant of the species papaver Somniferum or papaver Bracteatum.

It is a condition of this licence that prior to cultivating poppies, the holder must ensure that there is a contract, in force between the holder of the licence and a manufacturing chemist, requiring alkaloid poppies to be grown under the licence.
