Certificate of Registration as a Paintball Operator - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this registration if you intend to operate a paintball business. Paintball refers to the game in which paintball firearms are used to discharge paintball pellets at people or things.

Before applying for this registration, applicants must first acquire a category A, reason 6 firearm licence. You must also complete an application for a permit to acquire a firearm.

You may only take possession of markers, paintballs and other equipment once both the firearms licence and the application to acquire a firearm have been issued and an inspection of your firearms storage facility has been completed.

Please note that any employees must also hold a category A firearms licence.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration, you must:

  • acquire a category A, reason 6 firearms licence
  • complete an application to acquire a firearm
  • complete the relevant forms and identification checks
  • complete a firearms safety course
  • provide various elements of documentation, including council approval to operate a paintball business at a designated address
  • have your business premises inspected by the relevant Agency.
