Security Trainer Licence - Tasmania

Service summary

You may require this licence if you intend to provide training within the framework of a Registered Training Organisation to individuals working in the security industry. Once licensed you may train individuals in the following activities:

  • Crowd control;
  • Security general guarding;
  • Security guarding with dog;
  • Security guarding with firearm;
  • Bodyguard;
  • Monitoring room operator;
  • Commercial agent; and
  • Inquiry agent.

Licence

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • Have completed the prescribed training course (or higher qualification) you propose to teach and hold a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training;
  • Be 18 years or older;
  • Not be considered a risk to public safety;
  • Have no recorded conviction of a disqualifying offence;
  • Hold a current first aid certificate; and
  • Pay the required fee.
