Eligibility Certificate for Pharmacy Ownership - Tasmania

Description

You will need an eligibility certificate if you intend to hold an interest in a pharmacy business. An eligibility certificate (EC) is a licence that confirms the holder's eligibility to have an interest in a pharmacy business. It can cover up to four businesses if all the interests are held in the name of the holder of that EC. Eligibility certificates may be applied for as either:

  • an individual pharmacist
  • a partnership
  • an individual as trustee for a trust
  • a body corporate
  • a body corporate as trustee for a trust.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this certificate you must hold general registration as a pharmacist

If applying as a:

  • partnership - all members of the partnership must be pharmacists.
  • body corporate - all directors must be registered pharmacists and the majority of shareholders must be registered pharmacists.
