You will require this licence if you operate a business that provides commercial ground or pest management spraying services. This licence applies to any business that uses agricultural chemical products to control pests and diseases for fee or reward.
Examples where this licence would be required may include the following:
- Broad acre agricultural spraying;
- Forestry spray contracting;
- Roadside weed spraying
- Insect, disease or weed control in lawns and garden;
- Pest control; and
- Contract fumigation.
If your business only uses a small amount of chemical product and this use is incidental to the main purpose of the business (e.g. lawn mowing and garden maintenance), you may be exempt from this licensing requirement.
Please note, any staff employed by your business handling or applying chemicals must hold a valid Certificate of Competency to Use a Chemical Product.
