You will need to be authorised if you intend to manufacture, obtain, possess, sell or supply prescribed dangerous poisons.

Please refer to Appendix J of the poisons standard in the resources section below for a full list of prescribed dangerous poisons.

Certain conditions may relate to the granting of this authorisation, including:

  • the quantity of the prescribed poison
  • storage and security requirements for the prescribed poison
  • disposal of the prescribed poison.

To be eligible for this authorisation, you must:

  • be a fit and proper person
  • provide evidence of your legitimate need for the authorisation.

If you intend to apply as a body corporate, you must ensure your officers must be fit and proper people.
