Notification of Facilities at which Schedule 15 Chemicals are Present - Tasmania

Service summary

You will be required to provide this notification to the Agency if you operate a facility at which chemicals prescribed by Schedule 15 of the Work Health and Safety Regulations are present, or likely to be present, in quantities greater than 10 percent of designated threshold quantities. This notification will allow the Agency to determine whether you will be required to be licensed as an operator of a major hazard facility.

Schedule 15 chemicals include a variety of:

  • explosive materials
  • compressed and liquefied gases
  • flammable materials
  • oxidising materials
  • peroxides
  • toxic solids and liquids.

Eligibility requirements

This notification must:

  • be provided to the Agency within three months of your becoming aware that your facility is one of which you are required to provide notification
  • be accompanied by the relevant form, required fee, and any other information required by the Agency.
