Building Services Provider Licences - Tasmania

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to become a building services provider. A building services provider is someone who performs building or demolition work, design work or assessment and certification work. The licence types are as follows:

  • builder licence
  • architect licence
  • engineer licence
  • building designer licence
  • building services designer licence
  • building surveyor licence
  • permit authority licence
  • body corporate licence
  • partnership licence.

Each of these types of licence has unique sub-types of licence which outline their unique requirements and define what type of activities you can be licensed to undertake.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must:

  • have the appropriate qualifications, experience and competencies

  • undertake continuing professional development.

If you are applying for a body corporate or partnership licence you will need to nominate a person to hold the licence.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

You will need to keep records of all work you have completed for at least 10 years.
