Service summary

You will be required to comply with this code if you hold an animal research licence and intend to conduct research or teaching that involves animals. This code covers all aspects of the responsibilities, care and use of, or interaction with animals for scientific purposes in the fields of:

  • medicine
  • biology
  • agriculture
  • veterinary
  • other animal sciences, industry and teaching.

The code covers the use of all non-human vertebrates and higher-order vertebrates in:

  • research
  • teaching
  • field trials
  • product testing
  • diagnosis
  • production of biological products
  • environmental studies.
