Special Hemp Licence - Tasmania

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to cultivate, possess or supply non-industrial hemp for any of the following purposes:

  • scientific research
  • instruction
  • analysis
  • study.

Non-industrial hemp is any plant of the genus Cannabis where the concentration of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in the leaves and flowering heads exceeds one per cent.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • demonstrate that you are a fit and proper person
  • hold a current national police check
  • provide information about any past offences, including drug related offences
  • agree to comply with any investigations and inquiries that the Agency deem necessary.
