Notification of a Manifest Quantity Workplace (MQW) - Tasmania

Service summary

You will be required to provide this notification to the Agency if you intend to use, handle or store hazardous chemicals prescribed by Schedule 11 of the Work Health and Safety Regulations in quantities greater than designated manifest quantities.

Schedule 11 chemicals include a variety of:

  • flammable liquids, solids and gases
  • self-reactive substances
  • pyrophoric and self-heating substances
  • oxidising liquids and solids
  • organic peroxides
  • acutely toxic or corrosive substances
  • unstable substances.

Eligibility requirements

This notification must:

  • be provided to the Agency at least 14 days before the first use, storage or handling of hazardous chemicals in your workplace
  • be accompanied by a completed copy of the relevant form, the required fee, and any other documents required by the Agency.
