Prescribed Animal Farming Registration - Tasmania

Description

You will need this registration if you intend to farm prescribed animals. At present, the only prescribed animals are emus. Farming includes the:

  • sale or other disposal of the animal while it is alive
  • slaughtering and sale or other disposal of the slaughtered animal
  • harvesting of the animal or the products of the animal and the sale or other disposal of the harvested animal or products.

To be eligible for registration you must:

  • be a fit and proper person
  • ensure your area / premises is suitable for farming emus.
