Liquid Trade Waste Consent - Tasmania

Description

You may need to obtain this consent to discharge liquid trade waste into sewers managed by the agency. Liquid trade waste is defined as liquid waste generated by any:

  • trade
  • industrial
  • commercial
  • educational
  • hospitality
  • medical
  • dental
  • veterinary
  • agricultural
  • horticultural
  • scientific research
  • experimental activities.

Waste generated through the course of domestic activities is not classified as trade waste. Liquid trade waste must comply with certain standards as determined by the agency in order to be considered an acceptable standard for discharge into the sewerage system.

Depending on the volume and type of wastewater generated, your business may be classified as a:

  • commercial customer (category 1 or 2)
  • industrial customer (category 3 or 4)
  • tankered waste customer.
