Dealer Registration Scheme - Vehicle Registration - Tasmania

Service summary

This scheme enables authorised new car dealers to issue registration certificates, plates and labels. Each dealer under the scheme can have up to three employees who are nominated representatives, who are able to issue registration certificates, plates and labels on behalf of the dealer (applications must be completed by each prospective nominated representative).

In order to operate under the scheme, you will need to consult the Contact Officer.

Eligibility requirements

In order to be eligible to operate under this scheme you must:

  • Hold an exemption certificate issued under the Duties Act 2001; and
  • Be a member of the Motor Trades Association.
