Commercial Taxidermy Licence - Tasmania

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to conduct commercial taxidermy on wildlife. Commercial taxidermy includes any taxidermy activity (such as preparing, mounting or restoring dead wildlife, or parts of dead wildlife, for the purpose of preserving the wildlife in lifelike form) for which there is gain or reward, monetary or otherwise.

This licence authorises the holder to do the following to products of partly protected wildlife for commercial taxidermy without additional authority:

  • buy
  • receive
  • possess
  • sell or otherwise dispose.

If you only intend to conduct non-commercial taxidermy, you will require a non-commercial taxidermy permit.

For the avoidance of doubt, a holder of a current Commercial Taxidermy Licence does not require additional licences to carry out taxidermy for non-commercial use.
