You will require this licence if you intend to undertake any of the following activities:
- Buy or sell the untreated and unmarked skins of brushtail possums, bennett's wallabies, and Tasmanian pademelons; or
- Buy or sell brushtail possum fur.
This licence only allows you to buy skins and fur from licensed hunters. When selling skins or furs, you must pay a royalty fee. This fee will be determined based on the amount of skin or fur you intend to sell. You must also ensure that skin or fur is marked in the approved way before being sold.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.
To be eligible for this licence, you must:
- Satisfy the administrating agency of the licence that you are a fit and proper person;
- Provide any initial and ongoing documentation as required;
- Be willing to abide by all current legislation regarding interaction with native Tasmanian fauna and flora;
- Show proof of any appropriate insurance upon request; and
- Pay any fees as determined by the Agency.
