Plumbing Contractor Licence - Tasmania

Service summary

You will require this licence if you intend to contract for plumbing work. A contractor may be the owner, partner, corporate officer or manager of a gas-fitting business. They do not necessarily need to possess a gas-fitting practitioner licence.

A contractor must nominate a practitioner licence holder (who has completed additional qualifications) to be a Nominated Manager, who must manage and supervise the prescribed work undertaken by the business.

Eligibility requirements

In order to be eligible for this licence you must:

  • possess adequate insurance coverage (at least $5 million for any one occurrence)
  • nominate a qualified person to be the nominated manager
  • be a fit and proper person
  • submit the form, prescribed fee and any associated documentation.
