AS / NZS 2982:2010 Laboratory Design and Construction - Tasmania

Description

You must comply with this standard if you are an accredited person intending to issue a certificate of compliance to a place that stores or uses unsealed radioactive materials in a laboratory setting. Unsealed radioactive material refers to radioactive material that is not:

  • permanently sealed in a capsule
  • in a solid form and that is bound closely.

This standard sets out requirements relating to the design and construction of buildings that house laboratories. It applies both to new laboratories and to where existing buildings are converted to laboratory use. Special sections are included for hazardous substances, biological, radiological, and secondary school laboratories.
